A UPrinting way and giveaway!

Some say that the printing press is going out like a vinyl record or VHS tapes. I say no. Yes, Email, Facebook and other online media are replacing some of the way you can talk to your target audience, whither it be a fortune 500 company or to the people next door. However, there is still something good about knowing some one spent the time to make something for you to touch and feel. And that is what UPrinting does. The company is very good about their custom postcard printing.

I am what some people call a snob of printed material. I am very picky when it comes to printing things like postcards, I only want the best card stock, inks and choices especially when it reflects not only on the company making the card, it reflects on me. UPrinting helps with all of that including helping one come up with a design for the artistically impaired. The design feature is great. Its very simple and everything is in plan text so no art degree needed. You can go to their custom postcard printing and get inspired to win postcards of your own in the PunchTab entry box!

Forgot to mention what you would win!

Is Mother Mary Mom Enough? #WWJD?

I am a mother of two girls. I am an "Attached Parent". I do have an almost 3 year old asking for the breast. I do use Formula when needed. I do co-sleep with blankets. I don't hang on every word Dr. Sears says. I am proud to Nurse in Public with out a cover (unless there is no shady spot), in front of children, in public places and spaces.

Call me a terrorist, call me a weirdo, call me what you want however I want to say that I am sick and tired of the war on women, motherhood and breastfeeding. No one person controls the bonds between mother and child no matter how old. In this day and age, we should have accepted that and moved on.

We as an American Society should be focused on poverty, the economy, creating jobs, education, and improving healthcare for all instead of what an individual mother does with her individual child.

For people out there that say that it will "corrupt the child", "stunt the developmental growth of the child", I say did it stunt the growth of Jesus? Did Mary stop when he was 6 months old? Was God or Joseph telling her when to feed him or her other children? Did she have to wear a cover when nursing in public? Did she have to say to him, "Jesus, we have to nurse where we poo because we can't be seen in the market place on a bench because some one will see us!". I would have liked to have seen the expressions on all of the elderly women if they heard that!

We as women should not be divided, whether being Pro-Choice vs Pro-Life, breastfeeding vs formula feeding, boob vs bottle. We have all the same parts. How we chose to use them is our choice and should not be dictated by out side influences.

As Mother's day is this Sunday, we should be honoring the bond between a Mother and Child, not tearing it down.

Random Thank You

Just wanted to say thank you to all the people (Twitter, Facebook, and SMS) that have helped me through the month of April.

THANK YOU!!

This April has been really light on me since its the longest month of the year for me. Lets see, this April I totally bruised up my Right Knee and Left Shin (see picture to the left), I quit my job to stay home full time (for now), my daughter split her lip on the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, which started at 4 in the morning for both me and my husband. The only good news was that the ER didn't charge us for the visit, yea?

I did get an awesome idea for a new business and I think I can complete it. Haven't heard too many people talk about what I am thinking of doing (vague right? You'll soon see what I mean). I opened an Etsy shop (if you want to see the few things I have please look to the right for the Etsy link), I actually am making things now. Maybe I needed to quit my job to do all of this.

Well again, thank you to the many people I latched on to, you really did help move the month of April speedily along.

Hopes

So as people in the twitter-verse knows I quit my job last month and I have been in a cycle of saying "What the heck have I done", to "This is the best day of my life", and everything in between. I've been trying to set a schedule and having a great mentor Mama to Penguins. However with a 4 month old and an almost 3 year old its hard. Yes, I've got to admit that I don't have my oldest 24/7 though that is going to be a more gradual process. I want to get at least a month or two more in so she can at least fend for herself when her sister comes in and attacks.

I've got a small business brewing in the Mompertuner category of my life and I think its a game changer for who I really want to become. It will grant me the flexibility that I need and will allow the creativity outlet. Also helping small businesses succeed. I'll post more when I have more.

I am also thinking more about home schooling my kids. Listening to my Sister-In-Law's troubles with the school system, I am coming to the conclusion of just wanting better and reality is we can't pay to send them to very private school like England or anywhere besides American public school. Both me and my husband went through public school and we wish we were pushed more and given more help when we wanted rather than pushed along to make due to feel bullied, to feel stupid or to feel like one needs to dumb down to fit in.

I hope in the next 6 months I get my small business off the ground, to get Bella on a schedule that will allow me to get work done and maybe out of daycare (scary for me), get more information on homeschooling, and get some money flowing in with my Etsy Shop as well.

Wrap Up of #HAWMC

Just to let every one know that I hate April. Everything that could go wrong does happen in April. So when I heard about this challenge I was expecting my blog to disappear, my computer to explode, or my daughter to step on it so bad that I lose all the pictures in it. *Knocks on wood that it doesn't happen!*

So I completed a month of blogging about depression and my adventures. What did I really like? I liked my Keep Calm poster, the Miracle Cure, Super power and Quote inspiration. The one or two I didn't like was the Haiku *I did it anyway :)*, The Madlib, since it was a poem and not a funny story like the one's for kids.

I learned a lot about myself and so did my Mother in Law. I may do a new Keep Calm and Word cloud poster, and I think the time capsule, though I may schedule a date for the future and see when it posts what I thought of myself.

I didn't meet a lot of people, however I did meet a nice woman, Paula J. (her tumbler) (follow her @PaulaJAlbers). I hope to establish more friendships with #HAWMC persons as the days turn into months.

WORD! #HAWMC

So this is my word cloud. I am glad it picked up the word Depression as this whole month I have bared my soul to the world. There is more work to be needed out there for the de stigmatization of this terrible condition.
